SAILOR
MOON
A thousand years ago, the Moon was home to a great civilization, ruled by Queen Serenity, which was peaceful until the arrival of the
evil Queen Beryl. Queen Beryl wanted to rule the moon, so to conquer
the Moon, Queen Beryl unleashed the awesome power of the Negaforce.
Although Queen Serenity's world was destroyed, her last hope was the
ginzuishou/Imperium Silver Crystal and the Crescent Moon Wand.
Using them, the Queen froze, in moonbeam crystals, the princess
(Princess Serenity) and the children of the Moon, they were sent to
the future, on Earth. Their memories were lost, and the Queen's
cat advisors, Luna and Artemis must find the Princess so she will at
last be safe.
Sailor Moon
The first and original series of SM. The five major Senshi (Sailor's Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Venus) are introduced in this series. Since the intended audience is young girls, the storyline is pretty straight forward and appealed to young girls. Topics are often related to cosmetics, fragrances, fitness and fortune tellers.
Sailor Moon R
The plot of this series is based on beauty and fashion related topics. As the R (romance) implies, the story was centered around romance, but it is not simply about relationships between men and women. Two aliens was taught that love goes beyond that of the self. Love between siblings was illustrated through the catharsis in the Ayakashi sisters. The five senshi and Chibi Usa portrayed the love between friends. Parental love for Chibi Usa rescued her from the dark influence of her brain washed alter ego, black lady, demonstrating the power of love can overcome almost anything.
Sailor Moon S
The S means super. By the assistance of the Holy Grail, Sailor Moon turns into Super Sailor Moon. There is a shift in the storyline to fit a more mature audience. The older Ten'ou Haruka and Kaiou Michiru or Sailor Uranus and Sailor
Neptune were introduced here to appeal to an older and more male oriented audience. The tom boyish Haruka’s interest in sports cars and
motorcycles did just that. In addition Tsukino Usagi became a much stronger
character than ever before as she was able to uphold her principles to the
extreme.
Sailor Moon SS
The SS stands for Super Sailors. I'm not quite sure if this comes after or before Sailor Moon S. I'm also not certain on the particulars of the SS series right now. ^_^
Some people think that it's just for kids, well that's not true. I'm 18 and I love the show. I have 5 tapes, and 1 tape with the shows off of USA. I wish that the series would go on, it's funny, serious, and if you'd give it a chance, you people who doubt it, I think you might like it too.
